Liquefied natural gas (LNG) consistently outperforms other “green” fuel options, including hydrogen and electric aircraft. Our intellectual property around LNG is the result of 6 years of research and development with MIT’s Laboratory of Aviation and the Environment, Lockheed Martin and the German Aerospace Center Institute of Air Transport Systems.
Savion’s first LNG demo flight.
In 2019, Savion conducted its first demo flight with LNG. This accomplishment proved the airworthiness and cost effectiveness of LNG propulsion: our flight was achieved with less than 10% of the funding of others in this space.
